Jesus. This is unspeakable.

Whereas all those state run prisons waste taxpayer dollars, these privately run prisons have turned out to be well run businesses that know the value of a dollar. Besides, they’re only inmates.//

Dripping sarcasm.

Do they get to sell the organs of the dead inmates too?

re: #3 Skip Intro

Not yet, because our communist government hates the free market. If people could sell a piece off here and there, it would be win/win. No longer would Obama’s death panels make little girls die waiting for an organ, and all those worthless welfare peeps could actually contribute to society. And so what if people were murdered for black market organs? They should all live in gated communities so that doesn’t happen. If they sold off enough pieces, maybe they could afford to! //

You know, when you take away somebody’s rights and privileges as a free member of society, you automatically incur certain obligations to care for them. We as a society seem to be good, all to often, at the former, and not so good at the latter.

Money to be made! And who gives a shit about a bunch of crooks? Most of whom are not white?

Theoretically, no, but I understand Dick Cheney has been spotted outside the prison walls with his checkbook open so you never know.

How is this not a violation of the 8th Amendment? The government took away many of their rights and threw them in prison, the very least the government should take care of them (nutrition, shelter, and the necessary medical care to ensure that they can serve their sentences). At the very least, this violates basic human rights.

But I guess this is what happens when we view prison as punitive punishment for the sake of punishment, and not for the sake of correcting their behavior (for the lack of the proper term that has escaped me).

Goddammit, it was right on the tip of my tongue, but I kept coming up with “recondition” and such LOL

And I’ve actually have been a member here at LGF for years (maybe since 2005 or so) under commadore183. However, I’ve had some financial issues befall me and my family which kept me off of the internet for damn near a year, and as such, I’ve long since forgotten not only my login information for here, but also my e-mail address LOL .

Thanks for the welcome, though. It feels nice to return to a familiar place after so long.

You would have remembered it tonight at about 3am, if your brain works anything like mine.

Welcome back, then!
